KiT! is inspired by Timothy Morton’s concept of the hyperobject: phenomena massively distributed across time and space that exceed direct human perception. This research-creation project seeks attunement with what cannot be fully grasped: climate, atmosphere, and collective affect. Through embodied practices, it explores forms of speculative relational fictions that cultivate attention, imagination, and responsiveness. In this approach, choreography is understood as a practice that slows down perception and thought, making space for heterogeneous agencies to participate in the composition process. It creates situations eliciting attention rather than fixed meanings, echoing what Isabelle Stengers (2005) calls an “ecology of practices”: modes of coexistence grounded in reciprocity and complexity rather than domination. KiT! approaches choreography as a relational practice that shapes how we perceive, sense, and cohabit. The project brings together collaborators from different fields—including somatic practices, dance, electroacoustics, voice, composition, and scenography—who contribute to the studio process through their artistic and critical approaches.
