NOLI: Julian, an unemployed actress, earns a living as an early childhood educator. Between auditions and lackluster relationships, she finds solace in the stories she invents and tells the children in her care. When she discovers NOLI, a feminist erotic audio app, her life is turned upside down. This fictional world opens her mind to new and unprecedented perspectives. She becomes aware of the benefits of communicating with adults as if they were children, and children as if they were adults—with sincerity, patience, and humility. NOLI explores themes of sexuality, intimacy, and the search for one's authentic self. Playwright Virginie Daigle's intention is to demonstrate the importance of open and honest communication, setting boundaries, and seeking relationships and experiences that align with one's values and desires. She encourages us to listen to our deepest needs and create spaces where we can express ourselves freely without shame or judgment. She celebrates erotic art and sex positivity as vectors of empowerment.
