About cruising : Lignes de désir

It is a wordless theatre piece that explores the role of imagination in desire. The piece follows a novice protagonist who discovers a cruising space, confronting him with the paradoxes of his desires: what he envies, what disgusts him, the projection of his own fantasies onto others, the excitement of danger, and more. Through a movement-based dramaturgy shaped by slowness and micro-gestures, we discover a world governed by anonymity, by the characters’ internal and external tensions, by the implicit codes of cruising, and by the ways this form of sexual practice impacts the body. By exploring the relationship between visibility, invisibility, and desire, the work offers a sensitive reflection on contemporary sexual mores and the dynamics specific to queer spaces, while developing a distinctive theatrical form centred on the body and suggestion.
