In a bizarre, very angular world, all in black and white, two humanoid creatures make a dramatic appearance, disrupting the established order. With caution and clumsiness, they strive to understand the laws of this kaleidoscopic environment, filled with strange sounds and mysterious boxes. The possible appearance of tentacles is a cause for concern! Or is it?
After a deluge or a catastrophe, what unusual things might emerge? Poetry? Magic? The artistic Siamese twins Julia B. Laperrière and Sébastien Provencher have created and perform together this choreography full of mishaps, irony, and surprises, which pulses to the rhythm of live music. Unusual puppets with organic shapes also make their way onto this checkerboard-patterned set. And even though this is a journey into a quirky universe, we can’t help but reflect on our own urge to box everything away and on the transformative power of good old Chaos. Seriously, what would we be without it?
The show’s wild puppets and moving sculptures were created by Wendt+Dufaux, a creative duo consisting of Sarah Wendt, originally from Prince Edward Island, and Pascal Dufaux (France).
