Presentation of Canadian SHOWS of new circus practices

In July 2026, creators and presenters of the circus arts from around the world will be mobilized in Montréal for MONTRÉAL COMPLÈTEMENT CiRQUE. La TOHU, producer of the Festival, will present the 17th edition of this unmissable event!

The partnership between La TOHU and La Chapelle Scènes Contemporaines seeks applications from circus companies open to interdisciplinarity for their programming initiative L’Autre Cirque.With the goal of diversifying their programming while representing and staying attuned to the staged arts milieu, the TOHU and La Chapelle will co-present a bold program. This will be an opportunity for the public, presenters, and programmers attending the International Market of Contemporary Circus (MICC) to discover a different kind of circus and to expand their understanding of circus arts.

For this 7th edition of L’Autre Cirque, we are looking for 2 types of projects.

1. Long presentation : Finalized project, in excerpt or in full, lasting 50+ minutes, ready to be presented. Artistic fee of 1000$ to 1500$CAD per show. Artistic fee depends on the quantity of artists on stage.

2. Short presentation: Short pieces lasting 15 to 30 minutes maximum. The performance must be very light technically, without rigging or suspensions. Any props on stage must be easily set up before and after the presentation. Possible playing space, lighting, and sound configuration determined by the long presentation. Artistic fee of $500 CAD per show.

Applications will be reviewed by a jury of peers. Responses will be sent by no later than during the week of March 2nd, 2026.
