A copresentation of Festival Phénomena and La Chapelle Scènes Contemporaines. Mathieu Arsenault's best friend, Vickie Gendreau, was a writer. She died of a brain tumor when she was twenty-four after passing her archives to him. Two years after her death, something began to appear in Mathieu's dreams. He had the feeling that this thing was calling him, that it wanted him to go to the realm of death to bring her back to literature, where she felt at home. But he realized that this thing he thought he heard was not quite Vickie. He called her La morte. This show is Christian Lapointe's adaptation of the author's book, a speculative narrative of a personal experience. It asserts the need to find how to listen to the dead who speak deep within ourselves. Writing is one of the ways to do it. Between a Dark synthwave concert, a poetic performance and drama, this hybrid work of sharp humour explores the phenomena of ghosts from an ethical perspective, far from the psychology of grief, and far from occult, esoteric and religious traditions. It features the author himself in his own role, Ève Landry whose practice reminds Vickie Gendreau and Mélodie Bujold-Henri who, at the keyboards - playing the compositions of Navet Confit, perhaps embodies death itself. This eclectic piece is set in a scenic installation by visual artist Claudine Gagnon.
