MONTREAL, YEAR 2039 – A marketing agency is trying to win a campaign to launch UTOPIA CLINIK, a new chain of assisted euthanasia centres. In 2039, our world has changed, and so have the humans who inhabit it. The new Canadian law on euthanasia -passed in 2034- allows a wide range of clients to choose death in the paradisiacal setting of UTOPIA clinics. An incisive, moral, and sometimes hilarious debate unfolds between Kristân, Kloé, and Sibaz, the three founders of the advertising agency. How can they make the product “sexy”? But above all, how can one take a moral position when selling deliberate death? In the end, it is Alba who will make the decision, the teenage daughter of Kristian and Kloé. She is hospitalized after a relapse of anorexia and is secretly interested in the world of UTOPIA. A futuristic comedy in the tradition of his play Cyberjack (2001), Michel Monty takes us with UTOPIA INC. into a funny and offbeat world that questions the limits of individual freedom and extrapolates on the world of tomorrow.
