A man, almost alone on stage, searches, finds, loses, forgets, rejects, and ignores everything he has always thought he wanted to be. This play traces the origins of its author, Mani Soleymanlou, from his birth in Iran to his current residence in Montreal, passing through Paris, Toronto, and Ottawa. This quest leads the author to question his own Iranian origins when compared with those of people currently living in Iran, young Iranian men and women who are today fighting for their freedom, their country, and their lives. How do we define who we are, where we come from? How long are we someone before all of this changes? What does it mean to be something? What does it mean to come from somewhere? What makes us who we are? It’s a comedy!
