Tentatives

Two Attempts, two short pieces that respond to one another. Twice, a man, desperately ordinary, tries to stay afloat and find joy in life. Twice, he attempts to forget the rumbling depths below. But sometimes, among friends or in a crowd, the vertigo becomes overwhelming and the fall seems imminent. Isn’t the spectacle of a fall always enticing? In this two-headed work, speech and silence, the crowd and the individual, realism and abstraction engage in a dialogue that explores a single idea: the inability to inhabit the world.
