After the phenomenal success of its show Warning, signed by the unclassifiable creator Dave St-Pierre, MANDALA SITÙ returns to La Chapelle to present Tartare, a choreographic trio created by the sparkling and sensual Manon Oligny. The work, inspired by the myth of Diana, goddess of the hunt and the moon, is a reflection on the feminine obsession with control and perfection, as well as on the effects of losing mastery. In a universe that is both mythical and contemporary, echoing the Greco-Roman origin of the word Tartare which refers to a region of the Underworld, lives a half-animal, half-human woman who hunts without mercy. Embodied by three performers, this voracious predator rules both her environment and herself. Yet, away from prying eyes, this formidable creature sometimes loses control and trembles, even weakening… Tartare, an ode to aestheticism.
