Drawing inspiration from the theme of pain, the “body in pain” and its many dimensions, the work explores its figurative meanings: the pain of silence, of waiting, of rupture, rejection, solitude, illness and loss. Although the subject may seem very dark, the intention is meant to be luminous. It seeks to explore the dramaturgy of pain in all its forms, deeply inscribed within our bodies, and to confront us with the essence of creation in what is most pure and most complex about it.
On stage, an explosive, intimate and sexual duo questions the couple within our contemporary world. Through dance, connection is created. From this exchange emerge intimacy, sharing, the clash of bodies, and a physical and human encounter.
This project continues the performance work of Anne Le Beau. Her background, more than twenty years of collaborations with various choreographers, now leads her to pursue an artistic practice grounded in exchange, research and freedom. The collaborators she has chosen are all deeply committed artists. They touch her sensibility, unsettle her, inspire her, push her to surpass herself and to meet her artistic aspirations. All are engaged in a constant quest, endlessly beginning again.
