To launch La Chapelle’s four seasons, we invite you to a grand opening event with the famous Short & Sweet nights, initiated by Sasha Kleinplatz and Andrew Tay. This will be a La Chapelle special edition taking place on September 8th, 9th and 10th, where some of the four seasons’ artists will be seen in action. A party to launch a new year of multidisciplinary creation will follow the last performance, on Saturday September 10th. Short & Sweet follows these simple rules: invited artists are given carte blanche to present whatever they want, as long as it is under three minutes! A timekeeper is present and any artist going over the allotted time frame is immediately cut off. Short & Sweet has become an important platform for artists to take risks in front of a public open to experimentation. Montreal audiences have truly embraced the format of Short & Sweet, making it one of the most popular performance events in the city and appreciating the way it offers an entertaining and un-intimidating way to witness a wide variety of contemporary performance work.
