« To die….to go into the darkness…if it is darkness…to go to the river …if it is a river…but alone and without the illusion of love…naked and disastrously free… » - Howard Barker Echoing Steve Reich's hypnotic Different Trains, which questions the duality and fragility of our destinies, Clara Furey responds to the invitation of Olivier Bertrand as part of the first Montreal edition of Project ALBUM and creates Rather a Ditch, a piece where several "existential dance experiments" explore the porosity between life and death. Céline Bonnier slides from one state to another and explores interior landscapes, finding radiance in an enveloping darkness. Through the lines of space and sound in dialogue with a scenery denoted by an imposing fragility, imagined by Caroline Monnet, the choreographer creates a language both figurative and abstract where the most elementary gestures are reconsidered.
