What better way to carry out a rebirth than in a cradle, the cradle of Western civilization. Conceived during an extended stay in Rome, Personal Jesus is a solo work presented as an impressionistic “half-club,” alternating between different layers (travel impressions, intimate anecdotes, etc.). Its ingredients include: Donald Lautrec, Raffaella Carrà, Bach/Bacchus/Venus, Yourcenar, Pasolini, Chateaubriand, the ecstasy of Saint Teresa, the Tarpeian Rock, ill-fitting briefs, and the televised broadcast of the Sunday Mass Le Jour du Seigneur.
