No way, Veronica! is a fake Hollywood film featuring American stars of the 1980s such as Peter Falk, Gina Lollobrigida, and Stanley Baker. The disaster-movie-style plot follows a group of meteorological researchers on a subantarctic island whose male-dominated world is thrown into chaos by a nymphomaniac vamp (played by rising French film actress Katia Lewkowicz) attempting to infiltrate the scientific base by disguising herself as a dog, a professor, or even E.T. The combined work of stage director Jean Boillot and composer David Jisse transforms this hilarious comedy into a hybrid performance — part theatre piece, part electro/pop concert — a wildly inventive, joyful, and musical science-fiction spectacle where the theatrical, musical, and cinematic cultures of the 1980s collide.
