Les Érotisserie

In this multidisciplinary erotic circus, where every act is a work of art, eroticism is explored without prejudice, without restraint, and in all its forms—whether luminous and pleasurable or dark and taboo. Each edition of Les Érotisseries is unique and showcases the artistic maturity of seasoned performers. They adopt a stance of authentic sharing, both in the creative process and during performances in front of the audience. By integrating circus arts (contortion, straps, aerial silks, pole dance, smooth rope, etc.) into a staging that seeks to deconstruct taboos and shatter expectations, Les Érotisseries (which played to a full house at Théâtre La Chapelle in February 2014) offer the audience an experience in which the intimacy and talent of each artist are elevated. The show’s staging and set design heighten the elements of depth, ambiguity, and at times unease that are intrinsically present in the erotic. Upon arrival, the audience member is invited to choose a side between the “dry audience” and the “wet audience,” depending on the degree of participation and the type of experience they wish to have. As the show unfolds, doubt sets in: are there actors among the crowd, or have some audience members truly decided to participate in the experience fully?
