Le Duras Show is a tribute performance to Marguerite Duras, a resonating chamber for her body of work, and a multidisciplinary mosaic integrating dance, video, and acting. By confronting Duras’s artistic work with her own identity as a writer and public figure, the performance stages excerpts from her theatrical, literary, radio, cinematic, photographic, and biographical repertoire to create a piece that translates onto the stage the very mechanics of thought and expression embodied by Marguerite Duras. Inspired by her distinctive style, marked by the deconstruction of narrative and storytelling elements, the production emphasizes the multiplication of the figure of Marguerite Duras. The performers, both men and women, become Duras. The characters from her fiction form a hall of mirrors in which they echo and multiply one another. Video and sound excerpts stage the author and her characters, layered with acting and dance. The tone of the performance evokes traces, confidences, and memory.
