“A silent woman, her emptied breasts resting on the edges of a dining table.” This likely served as the starting point for La Vecchia Vacca, a creation, an obsession, and a personal introspection centered on her native Italy, family, and the sun, all laced with Nutella. Three women relentlessly hound a young man who bellows, vainly trying to escape the inevitable, to reproduce again and again the pattern of his first and only love, that of a mother. Their trio then echoes our own obsessions, from an excess of love to emotional lack, set against a backdrop of music from Italian television programs of the 1960s.
