GO SHOPPING (ET FAIS LE MORT)

“Take the plane, go to our great destinations. Go to Disney World, go shopping!” These words, spoken by the U.S. president in the aftermath of September 11, 2001, served as the inspiration for Joe Jack and John’s new work on the theme of grief. In our consumer society, this multidisciplinary performance—infused with social commentary—follows the journey of four castaways adrift in our commercial world. Before your very eyes, they’ll take stock of the small and significant losses in their lives. So, does death fill you with dread? Does grief overwhelm you? Go shopping!
