Months, years, or even decades after ending a pregnancy they did not want, women speak out. They seek to name, understand, accept, or simply share what they have experienced. Abortion as a face-to-face encounter with oneself, with our desires, our taboos, our failures, our loves.
The stories of these women intertwine and echo one another. Whether in a context where abortion is illegal, dangerous, and stigmatized, or within a medical system where the procedure is legally accepted, they have often experienced their abortions almost in secret, alone even when someone was holding their hand.
On stage, their testimonies take shape through their bodies, revealing their upheavals as well as the images and questions that inhabit them. Without pathos, but with fits of laughter and moments of silence.
A concerto of traces left by an event that may be experienced as nothing more than a simple curettage, but sometimes is not.
