Don Juan enters the stage, followed by a stenographer.
He looks over the audience, then at his secretary.
He dictates: “Paris, February 15, 1665. Premiere of *Dom Juan*. Tragicomedy. Timid. Lukewarm. But warm is the woman on the arm of the author, Molière.”
These words, which deface a masterpiece and its author, are posted “live” by the stenographer on Don Juan’s Twitter page. The audience sees them projected in the theatre, while the rest of the world can browse them online.
This “tweet” disrupts the dramatic mode of theatrical art and sets in motion the frantic pursuit of a man’s desire. Soon follows, in pursuit of him, a chorus of the offended demanding justice. What is uncensored in *Dom Juan* is not yet any of this.
At the end of the chase: punishment. Yes. But of a different order.
