Group discussion around the Tsishow

As part of the presentation of Tsishow, a performance by Xavier Goulet and Benjamin Therrien, a group discussion will be held. The artists will be joined on stage by Alex Valiquette and Sonalie Héneault, members of OUI Québec, who will give a short talk sharing their perspective on independence and culture. This introduction will lead into an open exchange with the audience in the form of a group discussion. This moment aims to foster the exchange of ideas and encourage dialogue around various issues related to artistic creation, independence, and the building of a collective project. Topics for reflection will include: The role of artistic practices in nation-building: what do they reveal, and what are some current examples. The place and responsibility of cultural venues in the Quebec context. The role of artists in processes of social construction. The concept of independence: is it necessary, emancipatory, and what challenges does it face today. Free activity: reservations recommended.
