A woman is riding her bike when she is hit by a car. The impact that sends her body flying through the air, simultaneously splinters her mind. She is thrown forward into her past, landing at the edge of a lake in the summer of her tenth year. Caught in a double-exposure, her physical being slowly empties out the fluids of life, while her psyche faces off with a memory she has successfully blocked for three decades.
In this solo performance married to film installation, both past and present are rendered simultaneously. Large-scale projections create the over-powering feeling of violence that comes with intense trauma, while Sabrina’s highly personal brand of writing and raw interactive performance style animate a distant past with an immediacy that brings us into the eye of the storm.
