“The world doesn’t give a damn that my daughter is dead, and that’s normal. Me, in life, all I need is for people to love me, and for things to be fun, that’s it. Not to go suffer on stage. I’m not some damn character!” Docu-fiction retracing the birth and death of a child, Beauté, chaleur et mort performs an autopsy of a couple plunged into the abyss of grief. A visceral poem dedicated to those struck by lightning who one day woke up in the middle of the wreckage of their lives, astonished to still be alive. One could say this performance is a work of resilience, a proof of love, a militant song. In fact, it is all of these at once: narrative; testimony; humour and questioning… all in an attempt to take an unflinching look at what we have become.
