The third installment in a series of works that use dreams and memory to explore themes of sexuality, feminine power, healing, and the loss of innocence, She's Gone Away, winner of the Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding Performance, combines the languages of movement, song, poetic text, instrumental music, and visual design. In a suspended moment, caught in mid-flight, a woman grappling with the fragmentation of her mind struggles to keep from leaving her body. She draws us into a continuous whirlwind of animalistic states that allow her both to escape herself and to return to herself. This journey into the physical, sexual, and emotional realms sweeps us intensely into a maelstrom of voracity, bravado, terror, and despair, ultimately leading to liberation.
