The schizophrenic paradoxes of the times we’re living in worry me. Everything seems possible, for better but above all for worse, and fuck, things are moving fast! A new caste, aristocratic/oligarchic and neo-feudal, rules the planet. There’s a kind of hyper-everything in the air. The question is: how long before it all blows up? Because of this “state of affairs,” the extremes are resurfacing. And that means we’re going to get a taste of it. Us poor people, women, gays, Black people, Jews, Arabs, intellectuals, artists. In short, Back to the Future. The question is: what do we do? A new French Revolution? There’s going to be blood if politics and democracy don’t take back power. I dream of kidnapping a billionaire. Manipulation, blindness, propaganda, alienation… All of this is starting to look like a science-fiction movie. Something like Soylent Green. This project/experiment deals with all of that: the human condition, the hyper-society of the spectacle, hypocrisy… Happiness. There’s a kind of “Last Call/Last Service” smell in the air these days. As I write this text, I can’t imagine making art for art’s sake. I’ve had enough, I’m fucking sick of it… I don’t want to be a victim of history, to be the fall guy in this vile, slimy farce of groupthink and globalization. I want to answer this farce with farce, caricature with caricature, because all of this is beginning to look like a grotesque dress rehearsal for humanity.
